British Singer-songwriter Jamie Lawson will be performing in Singapore on 27 April 2016 at the National University of Singapore, University Cultural Centre Theatre.
Lawson was the first artist to be signed to Ed Sheeran’s Gingerbread Man Record Label and his first album released with the label peaked at number one on the UK album chart. Born and raised in St Budeaux, Plymouth, England, Lawson first gained widespread attention when his song ‘Wasn’t Expecting That’ became an overnight hit on YouTube. The song itself, which was part of his third studio album, peaked at number 3 on the Irish Singles Chart.
Prior to the start of his international career, Lawson had already achieved some success in Ireland after the release of his second album. Since then, Lawson has come a long way from the 17 year old who first started out performing around the Irish club circuit. Today, he has performed in several countries worldwide and has toured with One Direction and Ed Sheeran. His unique acoustic based sound has since hit chart topping positions in multiple countries with album sales from his latest self titled album gaining double Platinum status in Australia.
