Kevin Hart is currently one of the biggest comedic stars, excelling both in stand-up as well as film. He will be coming to Singapore for the first time ever as part of his What Now Comedy Tour, performing at the Suntec Convention Centre Hall 601-604 on Tuesday, 2 February 2016!
2015 has been a busy year for him, starring with some of Hollywood’s biggest names in comedy including Will Ferrel in Get Hard as well as Josh Gad (the snowman in Frozen!) in Wedding Ringer! He is also the star and creator of his own TV show, Real Husbands of Hollywood which will be entering its 4th season in one of the funniest satires of teh irrationally popular ‘Real Housewives’ series.
His huge success now often hides the fact that he didn’t enjoy initial success, which is a little hard to imagine given how funny he is! Starting out as a standup in Philly, he was booed off the stage multiple times due to his own inability to develop his own unique comedic style. His comedy was inspired by Chris Tucker (of Rush Hour fame) but things soon turned for the better.
In September 2011 Hart released “Laugh At My Pain,” the feature film version of his comedy tour (under the same name). The movie grossed over $7 million, and was 2011’s most successful film of those released in less than 300 theaters. The LAMP tour was so successful, it catapulted Hart to 2011’s number one comedian on Ticketmaster, and in February, 2011, he sold out the Nokia Theater for two nights in a row, breaking the record previously set by Eddie Murphy.
Kevin Hart’s ability to laugh at himself and his unique comedic style is most apparent in this HILARIOUS video with David Beckham for H&M!
Kevin Hart coming to Singapore is quite like Russell Peters coming to Singapore in terms of being a comedy superstar. However, while Peters is well known to the Singaporean public for years now, Kevin Hart is less so but his material is fresh and funny as hell!
