Les Misérables, the acclaimed production by Cameron Mackintosh is coming to Singapore for a limited time only. From 31 May to 17 July 2016, Les Misérables will be playing at the Esplanade Theatre.

Set in 19th Century France, Les Misérables follows the story of Jean Valjean, a French peasant who is released after serving 19 years in jail for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his sister’s starving child. On a quest for redemption, Valjean decides to break his parole and start a new life after being inspired by a tremendous act of mercy by a kind bishop. However, Valjean is relentlessly pursued by a police inspector named Javert who would see him returned to prison. While all this is happening, France is swept up in a revolutionary fervour and things come to a head as a group of young idealists make a last stand at a street barricade.
